Onion Minced Toasted 300K
Onions belong to the amaryllis family, Amaryllidaceae. They are closely related to garlic, scallions, shallots, leeks and chive. White onions, such as Olam Spices’ US onions, have a sharper, more pungent flavor compared to the yellow variety.
Our AtSource verified onions are grown from seeds that have been developed through our proprietary seed breeding program, which has been around for over 75 years. Our non-GMO onions are carefully selected for size, color, shape and flavor in a process that takes over 14 years to produce the perfect seed.
Once the seeds are ready to be planted, they are distributed to three diversified growing regions in the western United States, cultivated by our farmer partners and harvested by our ag ops team. Finally, the onions travel to one of our three processing facilities on the west coast, where they are washed, sliced, dried, minced and toasted.
